The short version: Weft stores notes in an on-device database. When Premium iCloud sync is enabled in Weft, Apple processes synced records in your private CloudKit database. Weft has no notes backend and cannot access those records.
One paragraph summary. Weft does not collect app usage analytics or send your notes to a Weft-operated backend. The app stores notes in an on-device database. When Premium iCloud sync is enabled, CloudKit encrypts synced records in transit and at rest and stores them in that user's private database; Weft cannot access the contents.
Nothing on our side. Weft has no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting service, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party telemetry of any kind.
The data you create — names, notes, threads, photos you attach, rhythm settings — lives in a SwiftData store on your device's local file system. Standard iOS sandboxing applies: no other app can read it.
When Premium iCloud sync is enabled in Weft, synced records use your iCloud private database. Apple encrypts CloudKit records in transit and at rest and processes them under Apple's privacy terms. Weft has no notes backend and cannot access private-database contents.
If you sign out of iCloud, Apple removes the local copy of synced data and our app falls back to its local SwiftData store on that device.
If you bought a subscription, Apple processes the payment under their privacy policy. We see a tokenized identifier saying "this device has an active Premium subscription." We do not see your name, email, billing address, or card number.
The App Store also publishes aggregate, anonymized download counts on our App Store Connect dashboard. We can see "X people in Japan installed Weft this week" — never who, never which devices.
Premium can export every note to PDF or Markdown with one tap from Settings → Data. Exported files stay yours.
You can also use the destructive deletion control in Settings to remove every person, note, thread, and attached photo. If iCloud sync is active, those deletions sync to your other devices. This is irreversible; your App Store purchase remains, and Weft has no backend copy to recover.
Weft is rated 4+ in the App Store, but the app's purpose — keeping notes about people in your life — is intended for users 13 years and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone, so there's nothing to delete if a younger user installs the app.
If we change anything, we'll update the date at the top and note what changed in the app's release notes. We won't expand data collection without a clear, opt-in change you can refuse.
